Advantages:
Butyl (IIR)rubber rolls is noted for its outstanding impermeability to gases and vapors and is frequently used in air retaining applications. Butyl rubber can possess very good resistance to heat, oxygen, ozone and sunlight. In addition, Butyle rubber rolls can provide excellent resistance to alkalis, acids and oxygenated solvents. Butyl rubber has high energy absorption and can be a good electrical insulator.
Limitations:
Butyl rubber rolls is not recommended for uses requiring resistance to oil, gasoline and hydrocarbon solvents. Butyl products may be difficult to process.
